On June 6, the SAND lab celebrated Casandra Gomez-Alvarado and Julia Reitsma on their completion of the UCLA Psychology Research Opportunity Programs (PROPS). Through PROPS, students join research labs, conduct and present an independent project, attend weekly seminars related to graduate school preparation, and receive a $2,000 stipend. Dr. Silvers was awarded with a faculty research grant from the UCLA Academic Senate’s Council on Research. Adriana Méndez Leal will join the SAND lab as a graduate student this fall. Adriana received a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Computer Science from Harvard University in 2016. She has been a research assistant at the Center for Interdisciplinary Brain Sciences Research at Stanford Medical School and most recently, the Boston Children’s Hospital. Welcome
